Is Zhaan Really Dead?
On 4/6/01, we saw Zhaan heroically sacrifice her life to save Moya and
the crew. Specifically, the Delvian priestess willingly piloted another
ship away from Moya into the turbulent wall of a wormhole, and dissipated
into a cloud of glowing green sparks.
Virginia Hey has made convention appearances over the past few months,
so it seems certain that she hasn't been involved in most of Season 3.
Still ... there's hope. Is she gone, or is she coming back?
Please vote, and tell me your ideas
of just how the writers might work this little tangle out.

- Disintegrated
- You don't get more dead than ripped to glowing motes by the
space-time riptide of a wormhole wall.
- Makeup
- Reportedly, Virginia Hey mentioned at the Denver Con that she
can't take the makeup any more.
- D-E-A-D
- That pretty much says it all.
- Cost
- Resurrection always costs something. Bringing Zhaan back would
make light of her sacrifice for Aeryn.

- Pa'u Power
- Hey, if that maniac Stark can make it back after being disintegrated,
Zhaan can too. What does a Banik Stykera got that a Delvian Pa'u
doesn't?
- Promise
- She has a promise to the Builders to fulfill - she vowed to
take care of Moya. She didn't even have a chance to talk with
one of the crew about it. She'll come back to keep her promise.
- Actress Promise
- (Note: Unconfirmed by the editor) Virginia Hey once promised
that the only way the writers could kill off Zhaan would be to
do away with her in RL.
- She's a Plant
- Maybe she left a seed or a bud or a bloom or something somewhere.
- Stark Searching
- Stark is searching for Zhaan, in some fashion, on the planet
from "The Choice". Maybe he'll really find her.
- True Love
- She's got to come back, her true love (Stark) needs her.
